Hello, i'm riding a Nazca Pioneer through Africa since 1 year, my fork broke 3 months ago and i had it replaced with a modified mtb threaded 1 1/8 inches fork from the '90s that i found in Zambia. Yesterday the aluminium tiller steer broke at the welds where it pivots around the stem. Since i want to replace the fork with a threadless one, i am lookingto replace the stem too with a compatible one. I have found on the Nazca website that the Nazca Fuego has the stem that i am looking for, where i could find it? Thank you.

I think a new stem of a Nazca Fuego is difficult to find as Nazca quitted the production. The inventory was sold to Ligfietsshop Tempelman and i cant find this stem on his website ( www.ligfiets.shop ). An original fork from the Nazca pioneer is in stock there.
As the stem is a 1/1/8 you could also look on the website of Performercycles.com for parts. That a manufacturer which also sells parts for recumbents.

Thank you very much for the reply! I sent a whatsapp to Tempelman few days ago but i havent get i reply yet, he's on holyday i guess. I also tried to contact the Nazca founders through Facebook, asking if they could share the contact of the stem manifacturer. Lets see.. Cheers

It might well be manufactured at Rainbow Cycles in Aalten. https://www.rainbowindustry.nl/ They stopped making recumbents, but had their own recumbent brand Rainbow as well. They now build for Utopia a high class German upright brand. They do prototyping one off's as well.
But i doubt it would be cheaper than a Performer one.

I'm following you guys on instagram. Saw on violetbiru's story that a local welder has built a new stem? Anyways, let me know if you still need this thing, I've some stems laying around that might fit.

Hello, wow cool, yes a local welder here in a tanzanian village built the steer pipe that connects the handlebar to the stem, but not the stem itself, the stem is still the original aluminium one that fits inside a threaded 1 1/8 inches fork.. since i must change the fork soon because its not reliable (its an adapted rigid mtb fork from the 90s welded at middle lenght of the steerer in Zambia), and thread a fork is not so easy in this part of the world, i thought it might be better go threadless and get the required stem and headset.
Which stems do you have? If you prefere you can dm message violet on ig. Thank you, cheers, Giacomo

Hi Giacomo,
Looking for something like this? It is for 1 1/8 inch threadless fork, came from an Optima Orca recumbent (26" front wheel).

Here is another stem:
The black part fits around a 1 1/8 inch threadless fork but maybe there is missing some clam thing around it?
The steerer tube is a bit rusty though and the bolts are so tight I cannot remove it from the stem.

Yes, both of them are exactly what im looking for.
If i find someone thats flying to Nairobi (Kenya) or Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) from Netherlands in the next 2/3 weeks and is willing to carry a stem, it would be a possibility..

Ok, I will hear it later and you can contact me on Instagram. I guess the black one is the better one.
