Op het Duitse ligfiets forum is er een draadje over een goedkopere hoes. Ik heb hem benaderd en heb ook de NL hoes genoemd. Zelf overweeg ik ook een van beide
Citaat:Hello *********!
Thanks for your interest in the velomobile cover.
The price is 140 € incl. shipping and VAT (Dutch: BTW). No import taxes, as it is inside the EU.
There are three colours: black, dark green and brown.
I could deliver within 2-3 weeks, or if preferred later in Aug./Sep.
Just a note: I myself don't see it mainly as a rain cover, but more as a "magic hood". Obviously, the velomobile doesn't disappear with the cover, but the perception changes nearly completely. Whereas the uncovered VM attracts a lof of interest (and unfortunately sometimes grabbing), the covered VM mostly disappears from peoples' perception.
As for rain: While the fabric is silicon-covered, there is an inset on top, and usually I don't seal the seams. For the QV, you probably have some hood, so mostly it will be covered, I have the additional foam cover when it's raining, therefore waterproofness isn't my biggest concern for the cover. However, I can offer silicon sealing of the seams for additinal 10 € (i.e. 150 € in total).
The difference to the radical-design cover is:
- lighter, only ca. 210 g (compared to ca. 1000 g)
- price
- simpler design of my product, just a simple inset, but still very good fit.
- possibly less mechanical protection, as the radical covers is more sturdy. However, sitting on or leaning againg the VM, the difference will be small.
- also I should mention that I don't stitch the lower part of the cover, which may look fringed. The whole desing is minimal, but hundreds of sold covers have not shown any problems with fringing of the fabric, even after long use.
