This is definitely a consideration. We carefully selected a rim profile known for good beading qualities and made every effort to make them and straight as possible. However at the end of the day this seems to be as sizeable measure of tire quality at its construction so the test is honest to the results. It’s amazing how much this varied through the different models of tire.

Is rolling resistance directly proportional to tire circumference?
i.e. Double the circumference half the rolling resistance?

No however pneumatic volume does have an influence and a bigger wheel dose have more of that
